Teaching Assistant
We are always interested in recruiting Teaching Assistants across the school. Applicants will be child centered in their approach, enthusiastic and hard working, determined that every day provides a fresh start for children.
As part of our safer recruitment practice, if you are interested we will need a completed application form before any possible interviews. All staff will require safeguarding pre employment checks which include an enhanced DBS, satisfactory health clearance, references and evidence of right to work in the UK. We would welcome visits or phone calls to discuss any possible application, flexible working would be available for the right candidate. The role is grade 5 or grade 6 depending on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Finance Officer
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused Finance Officer to support our Finance Manager in all aspects of school finance. This is a varied role where you’ll take responsibility for purchase orders, invoices and financial administration—from managing the orders inbox and processing invoices to supporting budget holders, monitoring expenditure and ensuring compliance with financial procedures. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our financial systems run smoothly and efficiently across the school.
If you’re confident using Microsoft applications (particularly Excel), enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, we’d love to hear from you. This role is term time plus INSET days and offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the smooth running of our school community while upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and confidentiality.
KS4 Teacher (Maths)
We are looking for a passionate and resilient KS4 Maths Teacher to join our team at the Horton Centre in Gloucester. This is a unique opportunity to work with small groups of students, delivering engaging and personalised Maths lessons within a supportive, vocational curriculum that helps young people achieve meaningful qualifications and progress beyond Key Stage 4.
At Altus School, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. You will play a vital role in supporting students who may have experienced barriers to learning, using a trauma-informed and relational approach to re-engage them with education. Alongside high-quality teaching, you will contribute to students’ social and emotional development, working closely with families, colleagues and external professionals to ensure every learner is supported to succeed.
